FAQS

How does your service work?

Please contact me either through the form on the ‘contact’ tab, or email info@ladycalligraphy.com about your request. I will be in touch with you as soon as possible with a more detailed form for you to fill out. After that, I will set up a time to speak with you over the phone to finalize the details of your order. After that, I will send you a picture of a mock up envelope/place card etc. for your approval. Once that is approved, your order will go into production phase. They will then be mailed to you directly, or if you prefer and you live close by, you may pick them up.

Customer service is my number one priority and will be in contact with you every step of the way!

Why does calligraphy cost so much?

Calligraphy is a beautiful art form and takes a lot of time and care to complete from start to finish. Unlike cursive, calligraphy is a much slower process. A lot of videos online are deceiving because they are usually sped up, making the calligraphy process appear faster than it actually is. Your guests will appreciate the amount of time, love and dedication that went into writing their name in calligraphy!

Can I use my own card stock and envelopes?

You may definitely use your own card stock and envelopes! However, if you are using your own then the paper quality must be at least 70lb. Please reach out to me at info@ladycalligraphy.com if you have a question about the material you want to use. I will be more than happy to answer your questions! Pricing on the website is for the calligraphy artwork itself. If you need me to purchase material, it will be an extra fee.

Is the ink waterproof?

Yes, all ink used at Lady Calligraphy is waterproof so you do not need to worry about the text smudging due to the elements.

When should I mail my Save the Dates & Wedding Invites?

Save the Dates should be mailed out 6-8 months prior to your wedding! You want to make sure that your guests mark your big day on their calendar so there are no conflicts.

Wedding invites should be mailed out about 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding. If you did not send out any Save the Dates, then the wedding invites should be sent out earlier than 6 weeks. If your wedding is a destination wedding than be sure to send your invites out 3 months prior to your wedding.

Do you ship?

I ship any paper goods (place + escort cards, addressed envelopes, etc.) anywhere within the U.S. If you live close by and prefer to pick them up from me in the Lehigh Valley (PA), you may certainly do so!

For signage pieces, Local Pick-up/Drop-off ONLY! I work out of the Lehigh Valley in PA.

What is the turnaround time?

Envelopes and place cards can be picked up 3 weeks after the final order. Therefore, please order at least 3 weeks before the date that you will need them. Anything ordered after that 3-week mark will be considered a rush order and will require an extra fee. You will receive a separate change order invoice.

If you will require shipping, please allow an additional week to receive your items. Therefore, if you require shipping, please order at least 4 weeks before the date that you will need them. Anything ordered after that 4-week mark will be considered a rush order and will require an extra fee.

Ornaments and wax seals typically have a faster turnaround time of 1-2 weeks (plus shipping time).

**Turnaround time on custom pieces depends on the piece itself. Email info@ladycalligraphy.com to talk more about your specific piece.

When is payment due?

A non-refundable 30% deposit and contract are due at the time of booking to secure your spot on my calendar. The other 70% is due after all materials are received from the client and before production begins.

When is the final list of names due?

For place cards, escort cards, envelopes, & seating charts - all names/table numbers/addresses are due 4 weeks before the wedding date. Please send me your final guest list/addresses in PDF form. Any guests added after the 4-week mark will be charged an additional fee. You will receive a separate change order invoice.

What happens if I need to add or remove a guest from the final list?

There will be no refunds issued for guests who cannot attend after the initial final guest list is sent to me.
